With the recent exhibition at FOXRIVER, let’s stay on the topic of comic and animation genre: the above video is the trailer for Waltz with Bashir by Ari Folman. It is an animated documentary (!) about Folman’s search of his lost memory in the 1982 Lebanon War. Its really stunning. Out on dvd now.
Also a very interesting artist in the printed medium, Yuichi Yokoyama from Japan, has been drawing manga in his unique ways. Check out the book “Yuichi Yokoyama: Travel”, a manga without a story or any dialogue, just three traveling on the high speed train. It will blow you away, to say the least. some images here
